This weekend, Holy Family Ministries had the privilege of contributing to the Annual Youth Guidance Parent Leadership Conference, a powerful gathering dedicated to supporting families and nurturing student success. Our very own CEO Cheryl Collins, Director of Teaching & Learning Dr. Natalie Johnson, after school instructor Debbie Parks, and school nurse Rose Lewis Calvin led workshops in their areas of expertise ranging from mental health to cultivating a village. Many Holy Family parents also acted as volunteers, guest speakers, and participants. At Holy Family, we believe in the power of collaboration, faith, and education to uplift families and strengthen our community. We’re grateful to Youth Guidance for creating this meaningful space and to all the parents who joined us in this journey!

This week, Holy Family hosted our annual book fair! It was wonderful to see so many students excited about reading. Yesterday, our Holy Family Angels shined on stage at our Black History Month Program, paying tribute to the icons who paved the way! Through monologues, musical performances, and captivating dance, our students honored greats such as Medgar Evers, Marva Collins, and Judith Jamison, bringing their legacies to life. A special highlight was our Dance Team’s tribute to the Divine Nine, celebrating the strength, unity, and excellence of Black Greek-letter organizations! ????? Great job to our talented students, educators, and families for making this an unforgettable celebration of Black culture.

Tomorrow is the final Tuesday to support Holy Family at our Wings for Kids Event! You can visit any Hooters location in the Chicagoland area or join other Holy Family supporters along with our incredible CEO, Cheryl Collins, at the Wells Street location from 6 PM to 9 PM. ?? Celebrating Literacy at Holy Family School! Last week, our community came together for an inspiring Literacy Night 2024! Families and friends enjoyed live readings by the talented authors Senyah Haynes and Dr. Chinyere Okafor Conley. Engaging literacy games, and a special visit from the wonderful Me and My Bears team followed. Events like these highlight the power of education and community in fostering a love for learning. Thank you to everyone who made the evening such a success! Together, we continue to nurture the bright futures of our Holy Family Angels.
