When engaging with the "systems approach", many quickly experience the thrill of a new and powerful perspective. However, the perspective must mature into a grounded appreciation for what is required to build systems. Systems work is challenging. It requires a remarkably different mode of operation than what typically associated with a position of power –often requiring the system builder to relinquish traditional methods of authority and control in favor of service and the strategic distribution of power. However, the return of systems work is profound; with the potential of structural transformation that unlocks yet unknown potential.
