What a night at Madame Tussauds! The Hollywood Chamber’s Pre-Halloween BASH at Madame Tussauds *NEW* Hollywood rooftop was a hit! Guests mingled under the stars, enjoyed spooky sips and bites, and took a sneak peek at the museum's iconic figures. Costumes added flair, with a contest for all the best-dressed of the evening. I joined the historic 85th anniversary celebration last night as Pink’s kicked off a week of selling its famous hot dogs for 85 cents for 85 minutes, with proceeds going to charity as a thank you to LA. Celebrity guests are scheduled to be in the fabled “dog house” throughout the week. Last night featured owner Richard Pink and family members, Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky and yes, that’s LA Mayor Karen Bass serving up the mustard for another happy customer. During a break from the Mayor’s work behind the counter, I had a chance to speak with the Mayor about the challenge of homelessness and the streets of Hollywood. I grew up in the neighborhood and my dad - who lived to be 95 years old in good health - frequented Pink’s at least once a week. Might chili dogs be the secret to longevity? Highlights included insights from JLL's David Fan on the evolving commercial real estate scene and an incredible 3D digital twin of Hollywood from Smart City! Keynote speaker and Los Angeles City Council President Emeritus Paul Krekorian opened the summit, followed by a dynamic presentation by David Fan from JLL about navigating the new landscape of commercial real estate in Hollywood. Marty Shelton, commercial real estate development expert from NAI Capital, Inc., and Steve Nissen, our President & CEO highlighted development projects on a technological marvel provided by Smart City, a 3D map and digital twin of Hollywood. News anchor Frank Mottek guided an engaging panel discussion with Javier Cano from Marriott International, Joseph Mariani from BARDAS Investment Group, and Sam Pepper from Lincoln Property Company. Together, they explored critical issues and offered valuable insights to strengthen Hollywood's role as a thriving economic hub!
