It has been 4 years since the City of Greenville passed GVL2040. This comprehensive plan guides city officials, staff and board members as they make decisions regarding the preservation, revitalization and growth of our city. The city plans to complete a five-year review of GVL2040 in 2025. The review process will take place from April to June with a kickoff later this month. City of Greenville staff will present the draft to Greenville’s Planning Commission and Greenville City Council in August, and in September and October, the public can give its feedback. The updates should before the Planning Commission in November. You can read more at https://ow.ly/lzrT50VfEOi. #greenvillesc #yeahthatgreenville #advanceandthrive

Did you know that every February, the Career Technical Education (CTE) community celebrates CTE Month? to raise awareness of the role that CTE has in readying learners for college and career success? Although 89% of Greenville County students are graduating high school, 81% of graduates are prepared for college or careers. In order to increase the percentage of students graduating from high school who are prepared for college or career, Hollingsworth works with our community to strengthen pathways that make it easier for students to participate in and complete dual enrollment, including career and technical education. Studies show that students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds who participate in CTE programs are more likely to enroll in postsecondary education and eventually earn higher wages, allowing for greater economic mobility. #collegeorcareerready

Each year, the National Association of Realtors identifies markets expected to outperform based on key trends and metrics. They include the Greenville-Anderson area as one of ten top hot spots for the 2025 housing market. The report states “Greenville stands out as the area that checks off the most criteria on NAR’s top 10 list. This area particularly benefits from a strong net migration rate and affordability.” You can read more at https://ow.ly/2Z9O50UAAzj. This is after record home sales last year. According to the SC Association of Realtors, South Carolina experienced one of its top five years for home sales in 2024. Greenville County has a median home price of $314,900. Hollingsworth wants our community’s future to be one where our opportunity rates match our growth rates for everyone who lives here. #GreenvilleSC #YeahthatGreenville #GrowthandOpportunity #AdvanceandThrive

A recent analysis by U-Haul shows that South Carolina is the number one growth state in the nation. This is the first time the state has been U-Haul’s leading growth state. Greenville ranked number 10 on U-Haul’s list of top growth metros for 2024. Known as the “U-Haul Growth Index,” the list is based on the destinations of 2.5+ million one-way truck, trailer, and moving container transactions last year. You can read more at https://ow.ly/eVlx50UAzLH. This latest information highlights that Greenville remains one of the fastest-growing communities in the Southeast - but not everyone has felt the positive effects of this growth. Greenville has one of the lowest rates of economic mobility in the country, making it hard for some of our neighbors to get ahead. Hollingsworth wants our community’s future to be one where our opportunity rates match our growth rates for everyone who lives here. #GreenvilleSC #YeahthatGreenville #GrowthandOpportunity #AdvanceandThrive
