I had a great time earlier this week with my department head, Carter Newell, at the “Impact of the Bible Retreat,” hosted by the Herzog Foundation at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC. Over the course of two days, we looked into the historical and cultural context of the Bible. The retreat was also a unique opportunity to connect with fellow educators (shout out Holland Christian Schools), reflect on the Bible’s transformative power, and understand its influence on Western civilization and American history. A big thank you to our leadership at Hebron Christian Academy — James Taylor, EdD, Matthew Annett, and Alex Reid — for their support of our professional development and spiritual growth and for providing unique opportunities to do so.

We’ve got 95 baby fish! Tiny Chinook King salmon, currently called parr, that are almost grown enough to be released in Lake Macatawa next month! Forest School 4th graders and their fellow Pine Ridge + Forest School friends have enjoyed taking care of them since they were salmon eggs delivered last November, thanks to the financial support of Big Red Classic, and the oversight of the DNR. And we’re super stoked that we lost only 5 eggs so far!
