Last night at the #CBS Grammys, #StevieWonder sang, "We are the World". As the song lyrics reveal, he reminded us to reach out a hand to those in need. Last night's music awards show did just that with a focus on providing support & #fundraising to those #Americans whose lives are touched by the devastating #California fires, raising millions of dollars in aid. This includes our #firstresponders who showed up from across the Globe. As the HOLIDAY CARDS 4 OUR MILITARY - NH CHALLENGE Team continues to unpack boxes of cards sent in late December, we came across one from #Palisades Elementary School, a school community recently completely devastated by the fires. The children's cards, as seen by the one below, were written with joy, kindness, and with the hopes & dreams that children have for the magic of the holidays. Their's were generous hearts of ?????? as they created messages of cheer for our Warriors! These cards are now packed up ready for mailings for the holidays to come in the months ahead, each one surely to bring smiles to many ?? We are the World We are the CHILDREN We are the ones to make a brighter day So let's start giving ?? ????♀? #MysterySolved ????♀? For months, the HOLIDAY CARDS 4 OUR MILITARY - NH CHALLENGE received hundreds of beautiful preaddressed envelopes with gorgeous signed cards inside! For months, we tried to find commonalities amongst the card signers, which btw were from all over the #USA! For months, we read ?????? messages of holiday cheer for our #troops #veterans & #militaryfamilies! Last week, armed with a ?? , we found a logo LCI Paper Company on the back of each card. Googled it and found that the company is in neighboring #Massachusetts! Made a ?? call and IMMEDIATELY, Susan the customer service rep proclaimed, " YES YES those are our cards!" Her joy was infectious and she transferred me to the President, Karen Armstrong. We had an amazing conversation that revealed the back story and her very kind ??! As a company, they wanted to embrace a #payitforward philosophy. So they designed cards with preaddressed envelopes and guidelines about card signing for the HOLIDAY CARDS 4 OUR MILITARY - NH CHALLENGE AND included one or so in each of their orders. One of their customers loved it so much , he called them and asked for more for his Jr, #ROTC students. They sent him 500 cards! And THAT is how an amazing idea starts, with a generous heart, some creativity, and a #dogoodfeelgood philosophy!
