Last week, Jonetta Traylor-Nelson, Vicki Lin, Rosalyn Yao, CSP, ASP, CHST, and I went back to our Alma Mater Rochester Institute of Technology for the Construction Industry and Civil Engineering Career Fair! With the help of Yewande Abraham and our incoming intern Natalia Roa, we kicked off our trip with an info session for the students. Big thanks to Michelle Schleher, LEED AP who gave me and Jonetta a few minutes of her Construction Project Managment class’s time. I’m glad Rose and I were able to meet the members of CREW Rochester chapter. Now I have a new favorite coffee shop to visit when I come back in the Fall (You gotta try Winter Swan if you’re in the ROC). This trip was a great success and it reminds me how lucky I am to be able to go back with a team of other RIT alums from Holder Construction looking for star candidates who want to escape the Rochester lake effect snow and maybe even end up as far as the sunny beaches of LA.

This spring has been filled with exciting career fairs across the U.S., where we connected with the next generation of industry leaders.? ?? A big thank you to the students and faculty who took the time to visit us and learn more about building their future with Holder!

Project Spotlight: Clayworks Building 3 Located in Golden, CO, this 183,000 SF office building will be a centerpiece of the Clayworks campus—blending innovation, sustainability, and history. Set for completion in July 2026, it will serve as the new global headquarters for CoorsTek, surrounded by a community dedicated to craft and progress. We’re proud to be part of this transformative project!?

Last Thursday we welcomed some 150 students from three Atlanta Public Schools high schools for a “See It To Be It” tour of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. These behind-the-scenes events are designed for students who may not have such opportunities otherwise, giving them a look at the construction process through the eyes of those who built the stadium, particularly minority contractors. “Now it actually feels like a real building.” The outer layer of the Elevate BUR passenger terminal continues to expand throughout the site, and crews are also making major progress on the inside of the facility as well! Here’s a project update from Assistant Superintendent Tommy Burlic.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting seniors from Culpeper Technical Education Center (CTEC) for a presentation and site tour of one of our major data center projects in Ashburn, VA. It was an exciting chance for the students, both electrical and drafting, to get a first-hand look at career opportunities that await them after graduation.
