In 2025, women not only work to build some of the country’s largest and most important projects, they also help draw others into construction. These leaders serve as mentors, teachers and advocates to help elevate the industry and make it an attractive career option for other women. This year, as part of Construction Dive’s fifth annual Construction Champions program, editors examined more than 300 entries, scrutinizing each nominee’s impact and depth of experience as well as her commitment to leadership and mentorship.

What a week to be a part of the Holder family!! Last week, the Aligned IAD03 project, celebrated Women in Construction Week. I had the honor of addressing an exceptional group of women on our site who dedicate themselves to every aspect of our project. We convened for a breakfast onsite, where we engaged in meaningful conversations and fostered connections among ourselves. I extend my gratitude to our dedicated safety team for organizing this event and to our field processor, JoDee S., for their invaluable contributions. Over the following days, I attended our company-wide Holder CONNECT event. There, I had the opportunity to network with over half of the company and attend inspiring and innovative seminars. Through these seminars, I was able to self reflect about my role and develop new ways of growing. I was given new methods for strategic thinking, technological implementation, and project planning that I can now use in my day to day position. Holder continues to expand its diversity of projects and people. The culture of collaboration and camaraderie among employees from coast to coast was evident. I had the pleasure of speaking with individuals from all positions, including our CEO,Beth Lowry, and teams from across the nation. During the event, the illustrious Morgan State Alumni gathered to share their experiences at Holder. We proudly represented our alma mater and brought our enthusiasm to every event. Regardless of our geographical location, we found a sense of community and made our presence known. To top the week off, we concluded our three day event touring the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. We were able to tour the entire stadium and meet with the amazing Holder team that built the project! Seeing all of the complex and stunning ways we were able to construct a building like this was nothing but impressive! It was a great week!

February is heart health month. I’m proud of Holder Construction select projects participating in hosting on site blood drives. Collectively donating enough to save over 350 lives! Those who participated received the satisfaction of saving lives local as well as receiving key health markers while donating. Special thanks to Bob Duggan, Johnny Gordnier, CSP, Patrick Todd Chesser, Elliot Peterman, GSP, and many others who made February a successful month. #wellness #wellbeing #safety
