Water stewardship is a key part of our biodiversity commitments. ?? At our Honey Island (LA) plant, managing water is a constant, built-in priority—reflected in a set of innovative practices: - A closed-loop water system recycles water and prevents offsite discharge. - They protect sensitive ecosystems at a nearby river with an 8-mile levee around the plant and monthly inspections. - A newly designed automated sprinkler system reduced water consumption by 50%.

Women have long played a key role at our Ravena (NY) plant, and each has an important story about life in the construction industry. ??♀? Teresa (Widrick) Rice, about to celebrate her 10th year in the Holcim family, tests raw materials to ensure they meet all specifications and standards. ??♀? Kara O'Rourke, who has been working at the plant for seven months, handles employee relations and recruitment, compliance, ethics and provides excellent operation support to our team. ??♀? Carol Mason, a Holcim team member since 2014, keeps our projects running smoothly across departments.

What can the color of a hard hat tell you? Our visitors, interns and new employees wear a different colored hat from our experienced employees. It's a visible nudge to offer additional support and safety reminders to those still learning the ropes of a worksite. This simple system is one more way we keep safety top of mind, all the time.

Our Ste. Genevieve (MO) plant hosted participants from six states for Holcim University, where we shared the latest in building innovation. The three-day event included lectures on concrete materials, mix design and construction and ended with a site tour. By investing in our customers and employees, we’re building a stronger future, together!

A century-old building gets a new life! The University of Minnesota’s renovation of its 100-year-old Fraser Hall transforms this historic building into a modern hub for undergraduate chemistry. By using ECOPact low-carbon concrete, this project reduces CO2 emissions by 34% compared to traditional concrete—turning a historic chemistry hub into a sustainable powerhouse for future scientists.
