Full-Time Employee of the 3rd Quarter: Paige Calvey Paige joined HEParks as General Program Manager in August 2023 and quickly became an essential part of our team. Within months, she was promoted to Program Manager for School Age Care and Camps, where she oversees summer camps and before/after school programs in School Districts 15 and 54. This summer, she achieved record enrollment for our teen camps! Paige's commitment, positivity, and collaborative spirit continue to inspire us all. Congratulations, Paige! Early Childhood Educators provide amazing learning experiences for children. They create experiences that are thought-provoking, challenging, and introduce the world to them with endless possibilities. I believe this must always include opportunities to take risks. Through "safe risks" is where children build courage and tenacity. When children grow it's quite a sight. They learn so much from day to night. But here’s a truth we can't dismiss, They need to take a little risk. In "safe risk" play, there's room to fall, But not too far, not much at all. They stretch their skills, they test their mind, And learn to leave their fears behind. It’s in the wobble and the shake, Where growth occurs and futures wake. For courage builds when faced with fright, And perseverance shines oh so bright. They learn their strength, their place, their part, It sparks the flame in every heart. To problem-solve, and understand, That “Yes, I can!” is close at hand. In a world that’s safe, but far from bland, We guide them with a steady hand. We let them leap, we let them try, We let them reach beyond the sky. For one day soon, they’ll spread their wings, Achieving all their dreams and things.
