Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia转å‘了
I’m incredibly grateful for my Alternative Spring Break experience this past week, made possible by Rice University’s Center for Civic Leadership. My cohort and I traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, where we engaged with inspiring community partners, including the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, Kuluntu Reproductive Justice Center, Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia and the Feminist Women's Health Center (Atlanta). Each of these organizations provided valuable insights into the current state of Black maternal health — both locally in Atlanta and on a national scale. This experience deepened my understanding of the systemic challenges in our nation that contribute to this issue, the importance of culturally competent health providers and empowered me to think critically about how we can work toward equitable healthcare solutions. A huge thank you to the Center for Civic Leadership, my cohort, and the incredible people we met along the way. #AlternativeSpringBreak #CivicLeadership #BlackMaternalHealth #PublicHealth #CommunityEngagement #RiceUniversity
