As the snow thaws, we're thinking a lot about #impermeablesurfaces - the hard surfaces that stop rainwater from reconnecting with groundwater supplies as a result of runoff. For example, this residential road is desolate - why not depave the road and create a 30,000 square foot park space? Same goes for replacing bituminous/tar roofs with #greenroofs and whole host of other options. What are your ideas? It's the first Monday of the month - and 2025! What #communitydevelopment projects would you like to see move forward in your city? Here is a recent example from a #minneapolis neighbor: "The former Smith Foundry site at 2825 Cedar Ave. S NEEDS #redevelopment. It would be great if there was some #multifamily #affordable #housing. If the property remains more #industrial, it could be a good site to process all of the wood harvested in the metro, which could be processed into boards or plywood sheets and sold at cost within the Cities."
