Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) is a significant challenge that occurs when moisture becomes trapped under insulation materials. A 40-inch diameter vapor recovery line was found to be structurally deficient after an API 570 inspection. This deficiency meant the line would not make it to the next scheduled outage for repair. ? CarbonSeal? was the ideal solution as it was designed to fully restore the structural integrity of pipe while providing a leak-proof barrier that prevented vapors from exiting the pipe. An environmental enclosure was created to offset the cold conditions, so the wrap would be able to cure. ? This repair extended the pipe's service life by 5 years, allowing the client to confidently reach the 2-year scheduled outage. ? A distribution center faced structural issues due to concrete degradation across multiple areas, prompting significant concerns about safety and longevity. Initial assessments revealed 26 locations in dire need of attention. We are proud to share our success collaborating with a Contractor to reinforce the floor of a 500,000-gallon carbon steel tank storing UAN-32 fertilizer! A leading fertilizer facility, faced corrosion issues on the floor of their 500,000-gallon carbon steel tank. Frequent bag liner failures resulted in excessive cost investment and operational and safety risks. They sought a more permanent solution to prevent future leaks and reduce cost. HJ3 collaborated with the Contractor to combat corrosion challenges. Through meticulous surface prep including sandblasting, clean-up, and the installation of the HJ3 TankWrap? system, the tank's integrity was restored ensuring operational reliability.
