?? Hitchcock Hero Spotlight: Mrs. Elise Donnow! ?????? Today, we are honored to recognize Mrs. Elise Donnow, Swingerette Director at HHS, as our next Hitchcock Hero! ???? Nominated by one of her adoring students, Mrs. Donnow’s passion for dance and dedication to her team make her an incredible leader. She goes beyond teaching routines—she celebrates every achievement, big or small, and lifts her students up with kindness and encouragement. ? "Throughout my time as a Swingerette, she has helped me improve so much. She is so kind with her words and has a passion for dance, which I strive to have. She celebrates everyone’s small and big wins. Once, I made a small improvement, and she had me show everyone. They all applauded, and I felt so proud and appreciated." ?? Hitchcock’s FIRST Hitchcock Hero: The Heart of a Bulldog! ?????? We are incredibly proud to recognize our FIRST EVER Hitchcock Hero—and rightfully so—Chris Armacost! ???? Chris wears many hats in our community—Mayor of Hitchcock, Assistant Superintendent of Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations, and a dedicated servant to our district and beyond. For 25+ years, he has been a pillar of strength, always stepping up to serve with humility, generosity, and unwavering dedication. ??"I am nominating Chris Armacost because he wears many hats and takes on countless responsibilities for Hitchcock ISD. Despite his demanding role, his attitude is always exceptional. Even when assisting with technology issues—where his expertise far exceeds that of most—he never acts frustrated or inconvenienced. Chris is always ready to serve both the district and the community in any capacity. He makes himself available at any time of day or night to anyone in need, never seeking recognition or thanks. There is no task too big or small for him—whether it's digging ditches, directing traffic, or picking up trash, he leads by example and never asks anyone to do something he wouldn’t do himself. I have the utmost respect for Chris, both as a person and as a dedicated employee. He has been loyal to Hitchcock ISD for over 25 years, and if he can’t solve a problem himself, he will find someone who can. I am truly honored to know him and work alongside him. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Amy Miller from Stewart Elementary! ?????? Ms. Miller became a Diagnostician because she is passionate about supporting and advocating for children with learning challenges. She loves being able to identify both their strengths and areas where they may need extra support.
