Last weekend at #SXSW2025, Made By Us By Us hosted an inspiring Youth250 panel,?"Gen Z and the Gerontocracy: Reclaiming America’s Future," featuring Tiana Day,?Dillon St. Bernard, Andrew Roth, and?Alex Edgar. These Gen Z leaders discussed how intergenerational collaboration can drive meaningful change, the barriers young leaders face across sectors, and the tangible steps older generations can take to open leadership pathways for the next generation. This conversation couldn’t be more timely. As the U.S. approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, young people remain largely excluded from shaping the commemoration. Through Youth250, Made By Us is ensuring that changes by empowering young leaders to see the power of their voices, lead youth-centered 250th planning efforts, and write America’s next chapter. With our Youth250 Bureau, we’re directly connecting 100 young adults (ages 18-30) with organizations nationwide to make the U.S. 250th truly reflective of youth perspectives. Want to get involved? Ambassadors are volunteers who will amplify youth voices and work with institutions to highlight Civic Season celebrations across the country.
