The grand opening of Emerald Station is an exciting milestone in the Phoenix Arts & Innovation District (PHXJAX)‘s regenerative placemaking demonstration project! This 17,000-square-foot space, created with, by, and for community, is the first piece of our vision for an 8.3-acre transformation in Jacksonville. Working alongside City of Jacksonville, we’ve brought this incredible warehouse back to life with modern creative offices, gathering spaces, an event venue, and more – all designed to be a place where neighbors, artists, and entrepreneurs can co-create together. The Emerald Station is just the beginning, and we’re thrilled to see how it will spark new connections and creative energy in our city’s urban core.

Our team often says we are anti-gentrification and pro withintrification. By empowering our existing residents to take the lead, we ensure development aligns with their needs and aspirations, and foster a collaborative approach where community members actively participate in the decision making. Last night’s event in partnership with Groundwork Jacksonville is an example of providing a forum for community discussion and input into strategies that will be implemented. We discussed the current flooding challenges our neighbors face and worked together on planning a holistic approach to addressing those issues through Groundwork Jacksonville’s McCoys Creek and Hogans Creek Watersheds.
