关于我们

ABOUT HCC: The Hispanic Counseling Center (HCC) was established in 1977 by the Nassau County Department of Drug and Alcohol Addiction and the Nassau County Youth Board to provide substance abuse treatment services and services for children and adolescents in response to the county’s growing Latino population. Over the intervening years, the agency has grown and expanded, adding programs to respond to the community’s most urgent needs. Today, client services include Individual, Group, and Family Counseling, Educational Workshops, Case Management, Support Groups, Family Activities, After-school Tutoring and Enrichment, Summer Camp, Crisis Intervention, and Prevention Programs for at-risk youth. Services are available to all, regardless of race, ethnicity, creed, sexual orientation, or ability to pay. HCC continues to foster excellence in terms of quality of services and professionalism. As a result of a dedicated Staff and Board, and a strong network of donors, funders, and community supporters, Hispanic Counseling Center continues to make a difference-big and small-in the lives of Long Islanders. OUR MISSION: To enhance the strengths of Long Island’s families and children through bilingual, bicultural counseling, prevention, vocational and educational services to enrich their lives, foster economic independence and nurture dreams for generations to come.

  • During February and March, HCC's COMHPS program has offered an arts and crafts group for the community to foster creative expression and healthy coping mechanisms through crocheting. The crocheting skills of one client inspired the other members to learn and create the beautiful examples on display. This is but one example of how the HCC COMHPS program helps community members help themselves, and encourages each individual to thrive and prosper.

  • We are proud to introduce Community Wellness Specialist Carlos Jimenez as this month’s Employee Spotlight! In his own words: "As a Community Wellness Specialist, I have the privilege of implementing workshops and wellness activities that empower individuals to enhance their health and well-being. My role involves providing non-clinical counseling and on-site support, addressing a variety of topics such as time and stress management, resilience, coping strategies, and self-care practices. What I enjoy most is working closely with the community, connecting with people, and witnessing firsthand the positive impact of our work. I feel truly grateful to be part of such a dedicated and compassionate team, where each member is deeply committed to supporting and uplifting others." Carlos is a vital part of our team, and we are grateful for the positive impact he has on the community!
