Check out Fulbright Alumni Ambassador and Fulbright Latinx Mentorship Coordinator, Juan Gonzalez at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) conference in Aurora, Colorado this November 1-3, 2024!? ? Juan spoke to students, staff and faculty from #HispanicServingInstitutions about The Fulbright Program. ? ? "For me it was important to participate because I am passionate about more Latinx U.S. Americans being represented abroad and providing a more accurate view of what being from this country can look like. I spoke to so many students who hesitated to apply because of fears of not being qualified enough or the program not being for people like them. At the end many shared how important it was to hear from me and my colleague about our experiences as Latinx people in #Fulbright. Some shared that they resonated with our upbringings and cultural identities and valued seeing representation. They hope is that more Latinx students will apply and benefit from living, teaching and learning abroad."? Thanks Juan for representing the team and Fulbright! ? #FulbrightLatinx #HACU24?

Earlier this month, I presented Future-Proofing Careers: The CLR’s Impact on Education and Employability alongside Sandra E. Espinal and Keith Look at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU)‘s 38th Annual Conference in Aurora, Colorado! This session highlighted the Cougar Climb: First-Year Experience, a program designed to promote active student engagement among first-year students at Kean University and it’s utilization of Territorium’s Comprehensive Learner Record. Territorium’s LifeJourney app offers a mobile wallet for storing digital credentials and matches students with careers that align with their verified skills. I look forward to future opportunities to share the Cougar Climb: First-Year Experience with higher education administrators and students!
