This past month I had the privilege of attending the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) in Aurora, Colorado. I was honored to be one of six students representing Wichita State University ??. It was an amazing experience to see what opportunities there are for me after graduation. I was able to learn more networking skills and make connections with students from across the country. Not only did I grow professionally but it also helped me grow as a leader on campus. I’m able to implement what I learned at HACU to the organizations that I am a part of. Excited to have been chosen with a group of amazing individuals who also strive to do amazing things on our campus! ??

A couple weeks ago I had the privilege to attend the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Conference, representing Macalester College and our Latinx student organization, Adelante, along with Natalia Morales Flores. Through panels, workshops, and conversations with other students and professionals, we gained insights into the systemic challenges we face and the critical role of higher education, advocacy, and representation in addressing them. I am grateful to Macalester College for making this opportunity available to us and to the HACU community for an unforgettable experience. We are excited to bring what we learned back to campus!
