APRIL 3rd EARTHQUAKE On April 19th a delegation from NCREE (Taiwan National Center of earthquake engineering) made a visit on one residential building seismically isolated with HIRUN INTERNATIONAL isolators to verify the state of the art after earthquake. Several isolators with friction 0.035 and radius 6000, with displacement capacity of 50 cm, were reducing the earthquake effect allowing a building movement of approximately 5 to 10 cm; the video record during the earthquake is showing the building displacement.

HIRUN INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY The unfortunate event that hit Taiwan on April 3rd early morning, for which everyone regret on the big cost paid in terms of lives lost, have also heavily affected the structures in Taiwan and many wonderful Taiwanese natural spots. HIRUN INTERNATIONAL office building also was hit by the earthquake and both seismic isolation system and monitoring system installed have reacted in the expected way; in particular the monitoring system recorded the accelerations on the ground and on the structure showing that the building isolation system working by reducing the acceleration on the structure allowing some building displacement. Even if the acceleration measured were quite small, nearly 0.2g, the building displaced by few mm simultaneously to the bigger acceleration measured. From the recorded accelerations, especially in "X" direction, on the main earthquake 10 seconds, it can be seen that the ground peak accelerations are cut by the isolation system putting in evidence the importance of the adoption of isolation systems.

SPHERICAL BEARINGS FOR MONORAIL we want to announce that HIRUN INTERNATIONAL, with the important cooperation of EUCENTRE laboratory, completed the second set of fatigue test on spherical bearings for monorail lines; fatigue tests, performed up to a completion of 2.000.000 loading cycles, were performed in the most severe service loading condition, applying, continuously a pulsating vertical eccentric and horizontal load, with frequency of 2.5Hz. After the fatigue test a quasi static sets of tests, at ULS conditions, have been performed. Both sets of the tests have been concluded satisfactorily. The first set of test was performed, in the year 2018, for two important monorail line, pink and yellow lines, in Bangkok, for which HIRUN supplied approximately nos. 8000 bearings. The second set, just recently concluded again satisfactorily, was performed for two important monorail lines in Egypt, New Administrative Capital monorail line and 6th October rail transit monorail line, for which HIRUN supplied nearly nos. 700 bearings to Orascom and Arab Contractor important clients. We want to thank our clients for the trust given to our company to be able to be part of these important projects and all the engineers of EUCENTRE laboratory that cooperate with us for the execution of these unusual and difficult test. A special congratulations go to our HIRUN collaborators that make day by day HIRUN name greater.

Cairo Monorail, an important project for the supply of several hundreds of special spherical bearings resisting to beams transversal moment; one full week with the presence of an important delegation with client and contractors to attend tests in Eucentre laboratory, LABs of Politecnico di Milano and SologeaLab for material tests, we are happy to see the professional approvals given by the delegation to all the test results and laboratories selected.

We proudly confirm to have completed the FPC tests on more than no. 170 spherical sliding isolators, at Eucentre laboratory, as quality check for production done for important projects in Taiwan.
