Hirsch MPG LLC is an award-winning, full-service architecture, planning and design firm located in Chicago's River North

关于我们

Starting January 1, 2018, Hirsch Associates LLC has become Hirsch MPG, welcoming Andrew Myren AIA, Richard Parks AIA and David Genc AIA as partners of the firm. Like Hirsch Associates has done in the past, Hirsch MP fosters an office culture emphasizing Client responsiveness, excellence in design, thoroughness in technical detailing, and diligence during the construction process. Every Architectural project is unique and every Client has their individual goals. Our goal is to listen carefully, ask the right questions, increase our understanding, and provide creative and appropriate solutions. Helping our Clients succeed is the only way that we can achieve our own success. Therefore, we consider ourselves “Partners” of our Clients, working together to reach our common objectives; and “Advocates”, to make sure our Client’s interests are advanced through all phases of the project. Every Client and project receives our full commitment, dedication and attention to detail. Creating a compelling architectural image is one component in the design process, implementing that vision into a physical reality is another. Our task as Architects is to “lead” a team effort that can deliver this design vision, whether it is for a space, building or community, on time and within budget. To achieve this vision, Hirsch Associates provides the leadership and focus for the team and channels it into every phase and aspect of the project.

HMPG Project of the Month- March 2025 Before and After- Little Village Plaza One of the interesting things about the Street View feature on Google Maps is that you can sometimes find current views of a site in one location, but if you move your viewpoint a few feet, you get an image from several years ago. We discovered this was the case with Little Village Plaza which underwent a major renovation last year. We hope you enjoy these "Before and After" Street View views. Little Village Plaza was a dated, yet important shopping center, for the Little Village neighborhood and its predominantly Mexican population. Built over time, it was a jumbled mixture of buildings, architectural styles, and tenants. Novak Development purchased the center in 2019 with the intention of giving it a significant facelift and a fresh mix of retail and service tenants. Certain tenants like Walgreen’s and Esperanza Health Center needed to remain. Others, like La Baguette Bakery, needed to relocate. Central to the plan was the the ability to keep and relocate the Little Village Discount Mall, a beloved and important small-vendor space that rents stalls for the local population to sell their products at an economical cost, playing on the traditions of the central Mexican Marketplace found in most towns and villages. New construction for a bank and restaurant provided a fresh look along 26th Street adjacent to the Little Village Arch which symbolizes the neighborhood. Additionally, the entire parking lot was improved with an updated layout, landscaping, and lighting. The new design organizes the retail building using simple, colorful frames of stucco, reminiscent of both traditional Mexican markets and modern Mexican architecture. Large archways of perforated metal and steel mark the entrances at 26th and 27th Street. The bold colors, (blue, orange, red, yellow, green, and pink) give each tenant its own identity while the consistency in form gives the center an overall coherent look. We appreciate a great company like Vitro using our project in their discussion on the energy efficiency of glass. It is not every neighborhood project like this that has an owner willing to clad a building entirely in glass.

Glass is a beautiful, versatile material, but without energy efficiency, its appeal fades. That’s where low-e coatings come in, blocking ultraviolet and infrared light while allowing visible light to pass through. Our SOLARBAN? glass, backed by decades of constant innovation and multiple groundbreaking advancements in glass performance, stands as a testament to our commitment to create the perfect blend of aesthetic charm and energy efficiency. 2025 serves as a significant milestone for several of our SOLARBAN? glass products: SOLARBAN? 60 glass – 25th Anniversary SOLARBAN? 70 glass – 20th Anniversary SOLARBAN? 90 glass – 10th Anniversary As we celebrate the significant milestones of our diverse range of SOLARBAN? glass products, we take immense pride in our commitment to promote sustainable buildings and energy conservation. HMPG Project of the Month- February 2025 HOTEL LINCOLN | J. PARKER CHICAGO, IL This month we are looking back to one of our first hospitality projects. Located in the heart of Lincoln Park, the Hotel Lincoln’s building had been operated as a hotel under various names since the 1920s. The property was purchased out of foreclosure with the desire to create a modern, upscale, and family friendly hotel directly across the street from Lincoln Park and walking distance to Old Town. The lobby, including a new neighborhood focused coffee shop (Elaine’s), banquet facilities, and amenities were given new layouts, finishes and furnishings. The Rooms were updated within their original layouts. A new elevator was added within the existing structure to provide direct and accessible access to the penthouse suite and rooftop which was converted into J. Parker, a restaurant, bar, and lounge with a large rooftop providing spectacular city, park, and lake views. A folding “Nano Wall” separates the bar from the deck, which is opened in nice weather to provide a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. The hotel re-opened to much fanfare in the summer of 2012. It was featured in Hospitality Design and Chicago magazines and named 2012’s Best New Hotel by CS Interiors and one of 2013’s best by Travel and Leisure, among other honors. Client: Centrum Properties, Inc. | AJ Capital Partners Operator: Joie-de-Vivre Contractor: Linn-Mathes Interior Designer: Dirty Line Design

We have been working for years on the repurposing of a former Catholic School in North Lawndale into the the Dr. Deer Social Justice Center at 15th and Keeler, for the Lawndale Christian Legal Center. LCLC and the Deer Center were recently featured on WGN News for the difference they are making in the neighborhood. Construction is wrapping up and first residents scheduled to arrive in April. In addition, LCLC offices and legal assistance group will be housed on site.

HMPG Project of the Month- November 2024- 30 YEARS!!!!!! November 2024 is the 30 year anniversary of the founding of Hirsch Associates. Howard Hirsch took the risk of leaving his employment and starting a new firm at the age of 33, with two young daughters and a new house and mortgage. Howard employed one intern, bought a Pentium 6 Computer, a copy of AutoCad Lite, and established the firm in a two room office at 566 West Adams. That firm grew steadily, weathered two major recessions and was ultimately rebranded as Hirsch MPG in January of 2018 as Andrew Myren, Richard Parks and David Genc became partners. It has been a long and exciting journey. So....for this month's project, we are posting photos of the award winning projects created at HMPG through its 30 year history. The Photos are shown newest to oldest. 732 West Randolph Trulee- Evanston: 111 West Addison: Hotel Julian: Hubbard 221: The Fields Lofts: 412 Wells: 156 N. Jefferson: Centrum Lakeview (3400 N.
