But Campbell’s professional journey took a positive turn when she connected with Hiring Our Heroes, and ultimately, she landed her dream job. ? National Family Caregivers Month is an opportunity to recognize and honor family member caregivers who dedicate their time and energy to supporting our veterans. Mary Tallouzi became a caregiver to her son, Daniel, after he was injured in Iraq in 2006. “Life stops for the caregiver when they take on that role. When Daniel was injured, I experienced not just the loss of the child I knew but a profound change in my life," said Mary. “You lose your identity when you become a caregiver. You are no longer a member of your community. You may not even be earning your own wages.” According to the 2024 RAND Report, there are 14.3 million military and veteran caregivers in the U.S., with more than 10% providing care for post-9/11 veterans. Many of these caregivers juggle full-time jobs and other commitments, and 40% are also responsible for children under 18. Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) CEO Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Mike Linnington shared, "Research shows when military spouses and caregivers feel financially secure, whether through resources or employment opportunities, the quality of life improves for everyone in that household, including the service members in their lives.” ?? Hiring Our Heroes is proud to partner with WWP to support warriors, their families, and caregivers. In November, we celebrate Military Family Appreciation Month by recognizing the incredible strength and resilience of military families. They navigate deployments, relocations, uncertainty, and the unique challenges that come with military life. We extend our gratitude to military families for walking beside their service member during their time in uniform. Their sacrifices and resolute support are the foundation of our nation’s military readiness. #MilitaryFamilyAppreciationMonth #ThankYouVeterans #HiringOurHeroes
