In 2016 Pokémon Go took the world by storm. But, over the last few years, its popularity has been declining. In 2024, its revenue was around $600m, a 50% drop from its peak of $1.2 billion in 2020. Niantic, Inc., the parent company, is in talks to sell its gaming division, which includes Pokémon Go, Monster Hunter Now, and Pikmin Bloom, to Saudi-owned Scopely for $3.5 billion. This sale will enable Niantic to focus on augmented reality (AR) and geospatial mapping, returning to its original goal of creating the "real-world metaverse." For Saudi-backed Scopely, this acquisition fits with their Vision 2030 initiative to reduce dependence on oil by investing in gaming and esports. Want to dive further into this deal? How to Network Your Way into Interviews – Key Takeaways from the Wall St Accelerator Workshop #1 Breaking into investment banking or sales & trading requires smart networking. Here’s how: ? Research Before Reaching Out – Understand the specific group you're targeting by researching market trends, preparing insightful questions, and showing genuine interest. ? Ask Meaningful Questions – Engage bankers with thoughtful questions about the industry. For example, "How has your team adjusted loan pricing strategies given the Fed's current stance on interest rates?" ? Connect with Unconventional Backgrounds – If you're from a non-target school, focus on alumni or professionals who took non-traditional paths into the industry. They're more likely to relate to your journey and offer guidance. ? Leverage Conferences and In-Person Networking – Attend both virtual and in-person networking events. ? Keep Follow-Ups Brief – Send concise thank you emails after networking calls. Mention one key takeaway and express your desire to stay in touch. ?Stay Connected- Keep in touch by sending periodic updates on your progress or simple holiday greetings. These small touches help you remain top of mind when bankers review resumes. Remember, networking is a lifelong skill that can accelerate your career. Be strategic, stay persistent, and build genuine relationships. Join the?Wall Street Accelerator Community?today to stay connected on future workshops and networking opportunities.

What Is the Private Credit Market & Why Does It Matter? Private credit = financing deals?outside of the public market.?Sounds simple, but it's transforming the entire finance landscape. Here’s the shift. 20 years ago, private credit was considered high-risk and involved deals that traditional banks wouldn't touch. Today, alternative asset managers have entered the scene and taken a significant part of the market share away from banks. Why now? More regulations are holding banks captive to their balance sheets, making them more selective. Is it still risky? Not necessarily. The market is maturing, and with broader?regulatory oversight, private credit is becoming a more stable asset class. The result? A massive growth opportunity for private credit as this space matures. WACC vs. IRR: Key Differences Explained ?? Understanding the difference between?WACC?and?IRR?is key for anyone diving into finance and investments. Here’s a quick breakdown: IRR (Internal Rate of Return) = The rate that makes a project's NPV = 0. It discounts the project's future cash flows to today. It’s the potential return on your investment. WACC (Weighted Average Cost of Capital)?= The average rate a company pays for debt and equity. It’s the “cost of money” to fund a project or investment. The Key Takeaway: IRR?shows how fast your investment could grow. WACC?tells you how much it costs to fund that investment. When?IRR > WACC, the project is typically a go—indicating higher potential return than the cost of funding. Always compare IRR to WACC when evaluating projects. A higher IRR than WACC signals profitability! Want breakdowns like this in your inbox? Subscribe here: https://lnkd.in/er6aDSdd

When I was going through the IB recruiting process, I realized something: interview prep was broken. The resources available weren’t as helpful as they could be, especially given what’s possible with technology. So, I built my own solution, an initial prototype of HirePrep, and used it to prepare for interviews. I landed an offer. But instead of taking the job, I turned it down to go all-in on building HirePrep so other students could have an edge in high-stakes interviews. Fast forward to today, we’re about to launch V1 of the platform, and are looking for entrepreneurial students to help lead our expansion at their schools. With that said, I'm excited to introduce the Campus Co-Founder program! We’re selecting one student per university to be the face of HirePrep on their campus. This is a real business development role where you’ll: ? Introduce HirePrep to student organizations, career centers, and finance clubs ? Lead marketing, outreach, and networking efforts ? Host events, drive sign-ups, and earn a commission on every student or club you bring in ? Work directly with me and our team to scale HirePrep I designed this program to be an opportunity that I would have jumped at. It revolves around flexibility, entrepreneurial freedom, and the ability to earn based on results. Sound interesting? Learn more and apply here:?https://lnkd.in/e-H345th
