Now that we’ve officially wrapped up our first round of hiring for Gathrd, it’s time to reflect on what my team learned—thanks in large part to the leadership of Michele Graham. 1) Alignment Matters From the start, Michele was consistently impressed with Gathrd’s CEO, Stacie Proctor. Regardless of the challenges ahead, she felt confident in the leadership, appreciated the clarity of communication, and recognized a partnership that was fair and reasonable. That alignment made all the difference. 2) We Can Do Hard Things In my career, I had never taken on recruitment for commission-only roles. They’re notoriously tough and often carry a negative perception. But this experience proved otherwise. We pushed ourselves to advertise nationwide, targeting a high-caliber audience where both employer and employee could mutually benefit from these relationships. 3) Pivot & Accountability Success requires constant adaptation. My team stayed agile, leaned into transparency, and took full accountability—ensuring we met our goals with determination and resilience. The result?
