Providing the next generation of care to Victims of Crime through a survivor and women-led organization. Healing Intergenerational Roots for All Nations, One Tribe. The Institute is our hub and informs our team of staff and interns on culturally responsive and respectful practices. Our training approach equips and inspires providers with cutting-edge and emerging practices around trauma-informed healing. It serves as the incubator where practitioners across all healing disciplines engage in collaboration, integration, and teachings that fuse the Intergenerational Healing Approach and our Ancestral ways. Our master instructors, global knowledge-seekers, and authentic community partners share their teachings and grow together for the next generation of healing leaders. This is where your internship is nurtured, developed. Mission: Establish a social justice-informed and culturally rooted Intergenerational Healing Approach? that improves mental health and wellness outcomes for Indigenous and underserved communities. Vision: Our vision is to create the future leaders and healers for the next generation, with respect to the relationship with one another and our ancestors. Healing Intergenerational Roots (HIR) Wellness Institute inspired by the ancestral teachings and Indigenous knowledge of The Children’s Fire. This is reflected in our Omni-dimensional organizational network and system that embodies a decentralized heterarchical and shared governance model, rooted in Indigenous practices. The two laws of the Children’s Fire: The Children’s Fire must forever keep going The feminine must be protected We will always seek to protect our future by pledging that no harm will come to our children by doing what is in their best interest and nurture the continuation of our ways. Our programming fosters a community-informed practice that addresses the complex impact of historical and intergenerational trauma through applying an Intergenerational Healing Informed Approach?.

Dear Relatives, Today, we are celebrating the birthday of one of our students, Sam! ? Sam (they/them) is a Master of Social Work student intern from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Sam is remarkably talented and warm putting their heart into their work and fostering connection wherever they go. They support our relatives by being a safe presence on our CARES warmline and at CAMPsites?, lending their hands and heart to therapeutic groups like Sons of Tradition and Story Menders, seeking resources for our community, and so much more! Sam walks with deep compassion and abundant love, and we are delighted for their presence with us. ? Sam brings us joy and warmth with their presence here at HIR Wellness Institute, and we are grateful and glad to have them on our internship team! ? Relatives, please join us in wishing Sam a beautiful birthday! ? With love, The HIR Wellness Institute Team

Dear relatives, We would like to take a moment to update you about our 8th Annual CAM? & Red Sand Event. It has come to our attention that there has been an error with our 8th Annual CAM? & Red Sand Event Eventbrite page. The email reminder has the correct date; tomorrow, Friday, November 15th, 2024, from 1PM-4PM CST. However, the app and the mobile ticket list the incorrect date. Our 8th Annual CAM? & Red Sand Event is still being held tomorrow, Friday, November 15th, 2024, from 1PM-4PM CST at The Electia-Quinny Institute at UW-Milwaukee. Thank you for your patience. Join us tomorrow as we listen to community members and leaders share about MMIW/R, hold a grief walk honoring those we have lost, engage in the pouring of the red sand as a form of creative activism, and honor our loss through ceremony. HIR Wellness Institute will also have our Mental Health Without Borders? CAMPsite? team onsite to provide immediate grief and emotional support to community members in attendance.
