Dear Relatives, ? This spring, our Daughters of Tradition and Sons of Tradition groups are engaging in mask-making as a therapeutic art practice. Masks can serve as protection, a means of hiding, a connection to culture, a reflection of how we wish to be seen, or something entirely different. As our youth create their masks, our interns are building meaningful connections with our young relatives, listening to their stories, honoring their feelings, teaching stress reduction and coping skills, and sharing in the creative process.? ? In practicing these therapeutic clinical skills, interns are simultaneously mentored and taught by our team of Integrated Interdisciplinary Field instructors on the CAM??Theoretical Approach and how this approach informs their practice as future clinicians. In this exchange of art and storytelling, both youth and interns learn from one another, deepening their relational health and sense of belonging, further creating a shift in the relationship dynamic between providers and relatives being served. ? We are so proud of our interns! ? In Community, HIR Wellness Institute

Dear relatives, The HIR Wellness Institute will be closed today, Friday, March 7th, 2025, for our Organizational Care Days off! Our CEO and Founder, Lea S. Denny, created and implemented Organizational Care Days off in 2023 to intentionally invest in the well-being of our team members, recognizing the potential impact of the heartfelt work being done to serve relatives impacted by violence. These days are a time for team members to recharge, reconnect, and intentionally slow things down to breathe in all that brings joy, rest, and belonging. If you are interested in victim advocacy or social and emotional support, please contact our CARES Warmline at (414) 748 2592. All calls and text messages will be returned within 1 business day after we have returned to our offices on Monday, March 10th, 2025. In Community, HIR Wellness Institute ????
