The Indian Health Service (IHS) is undergoing a transformational Health Information Technology (IT) modernization effort to build a new electronic health record (EHR). As Congress wraps up its work, we must emphasize how critical it is to support IHS health IT modernization, with adequate funding, to improve the lives of our American Indian and Alaska Native population. Full funding would allow IHS to successfully deploy a modernized EHR to their patients and improve health outcomes across Tribal nations.
