Zach Wicks has joined our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania branch office as our Environmental Department Manager. Zach brings with him over 17 years of diverse experience in Environmental Consulting and Management. He holds a B.S. from Shippensburg University in Geo-Environmental Studies and is a certified Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) and a licensed Asbestos Building Inspector in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Hillis-Carnes Opens Sarasota Florida Office Hillis-Carnes is pleased to announce that we are opening our newest office in Sarasota, Florida. After providing consulting engineering services in Florida for several years, we’re now establishing a local office and materials lab to provide our complete list of services to our clients in the area. Our new office will be centrally located in Sarasota to allow easy access to these locations and meet the rising demands of our clients in South Florida and the Gulf Coast. On November 14, Regional Business Development Manager Aaron Roach and Principal Engineer Steve Simonette, out of our Pittsburgh office, attended NAIOP’s 24th Annual Night at the Fights. The event was held at Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where A/E/C Professionals came together to network and participate in a silent auction to benefit the Little Fox – Toby’s Foundation, the only nonprofit in Pennsylvania focused on providing grief retreats specifically for families who have experienced the loss of a baby. Hillis-Carnes was a “Middleweight Sponsor” this year; donations went towards this excellent organization and cause. All students across campus pursuing technical studies and roles were welcomed. This inclusivity ensures a broad representation of interests and disciplines. Hillis-Carnes is proud to announce the promotion of Robbie Brown to the position of Branch Manager of our Frederick, Maryland office. Robbie has been with the firm for almost 20 years and started as an Engineering Technician. Over the years, he has continued to grow in the company working as a Project Manager overseeing numerous projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. On June 27th, Harrisburg Branch Manager Matt Decker, PE, and Regional Business Development Manager Aaron Roach participated in SMPS’ A/E/C Golfing “Fore” Business Golf Tournament. The event was held at Out Door Country Club in York, Pennsylvania, where A/E/C Professionals came together to network while supporting the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development. As a nationally recognized pediatric facility, the Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development offers family-centered education and therapy programs for infants, children, and adolescents with disabilities, developmental delays, and acquired injuries. Its goal-oriented approach maximizes each child’s ability to function independently within the community.
