Our student ambassadors met this week and want have a Friendsgiving celebration before the Thanksgiving holiday. Anyone connected interested to help find a local sponsor to make this happen??( sponsored lunch)

Last week PACS students had a career-readiness trifecta. Students attended Slippery Rock University, BUILD-On at the convention center sponsored by the Builders Guild, as well as their weekly cohort for welding at Industrial Arts Workshop. We appreciate our community partners in supporting our exploration of post-secondary pathways for our students.

SIGNING DAY. We had a little fun today as we had a signing day for our fall 2024 Weld Scholars Welding Cohort. So excited for the experience our students will have over the next 8 weeks as they work alongside the team at Industrial Arts Workshop. In addition to the career-ready skills our students will learn during their time at IAW, they will be able to apply their new skills in creating beautiful pieces of art. We are thrilled to announce that Passport Academy has secured a five-year renewal of its charter following a vote by the Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) Board of Public Education on Wednesday, September 25. What the Charter Renewal Means: This decision extends our charter through the 2028-2029 school year, ensuring that we can continue to provide a supportive, alternative learning environment where students are empowered to walk across the stage and proudly earn their high school diplomas. The renewal is a powerful affirmation of the vital role Passport Academy plays in the Pittsburgh community. We are committed to helping students to succeed, many of whom face unique challenges in traditional school settings. Our flexible, student-centered approach continues to make a meaningful impact, and we are deeply grateful that the PPS Board of Public Education has recognized this by voting in favor of our renewal. Thank You to Our #BackPACS Community: We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the supporters of the #BackPACS movement. Your dedication, advocacy and unwavering belief in the mission of Passport Academy made this possible. From speaking at public meetings to amplifying our message on social media, your voices were instrumental in ensuring the board understood just how important our school is to students and families across the city. This renewal is not just a victory for Passport Academy, but for the entire community. We are excited to continue our mission of inspiring academic success and personal growth for all of our students in the years to come. Thank you once again to the PPS Board and to everyone who stood up for Passport Academy.
