We successfully concluded our seventh and final Inspirational Insights talk for ifada 5.0, titled "Corporate Venture Insights: Lessons from Hikma Ventures & Ahli Fintech." In this engaging and informative session, we had the privilege of hearing from Lana Ghanem, Managing Director at Hikma Ventures, and Ghassan Muasher, CEO of Ahli Fintech, as they shared their insights into the world of Corporate Venture Capital (CVC). What truly elevated the discussion was the moderation by Aboudi Al-Qattan, Principal at DASH Ventures. Aboudi's expertise and ability to foster a conversational atmosphere were instrumental in guiding the dialogue, making complex topics accessible and engaging for all fellows and alumni. Through Aboudi’s smooth facilitation, Lana and Ghassan explored the strategic motivations behind their CVC initiatives, discussing how they navigate the balance between financial goals and the need for innovation in their respective sectors. The session was structured to encourage open dialogue, allowing the speakers to share unique challenges and opportunities within FinTech and digital health while Aboudi ensured that related questions and ideas flowed seamlessly throughout the conversation. ????NEW Publication Alert ???? Octave is honored to announce that our latest peer-reviewed manuscript has been published in the prestigious journal, Nature Communications (Nature Portfolio)! The landmark manuscript titled “Inflammatory and neurodegenerative serum protein biomarkers increase sensitivity to detect clinical and radiographic disease activity in multiple sclerosis” features several Octave studies with world-class cohorts including CLIMB from Brigham and Women's, EPIC from UCSF, and the Accelerated Cure Project Biorepository. These studies demonstrated that multiple proteins with diverse biological functions were found to have associations with multiple sclerosis endpoints of disease activity. In addition, the research indicates multi-protein models have stronger associations than any single protein models. Click Therapeutics along with Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.) are pleased to announce that the U.S. FDA has cleared Rejoyn? (developed as CT-152), the first prescription digital therapeutic (PDT) indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) symptoms as an adjunct to clinician-managed outpatient care for adult patients with MDD age 22 years and older who are on antidepressant medication. ? Our six-week #PDT program was shown in a randomized controlled trial to reduce symptoms of depression. It is designed to help enhance cognitive control of emotion through a combination of clinically validated cognitive emotional training exercises for the brain and brief therapeutic lessons. This clearance offers a novel option for the adjunctive treatment of MDD symptoms for adult patients living with MDD who are on antidepressant medication.
