关于我们
Hijas Del Campo is a Contra Costa County grass roots organization that aims to help migrant and seasonal farmworkers improve their working conditions, health, and safety. Our goals are to ensure that every farm worker has access to legal and labor education. This is a way for us to create a world in which farming is not only a viable career, but also a way to preserve ancestral lands, heritage, and lifestyles.

"Las trabajadoras del campo son de las más afectadas por la llamada 'pobreza menstrual', que se traduce en una falta de acceso a productos de higiene femenino. “Se siente una desesperada, triste”, menciona una hispana, quien se ve obligada a dejar de lado sus propias necesidades con el fin de asegurar comida para sus hijos." Gracias, Andrea Igliozzi por su atención y este reportaje. ********************************** "Female farmworkers are among those most affected by so-called 'period poverty,' which translates to a lack of access to feminine hygiene products. With ongoing immigration enforcement activities reported in various communities in our state and others, many families are rushing to make emergency plans. Sadly it seems that many are falling victim to predatory services. Some notaries are providing incorrect documentation or charging excessive fees during this vulnerable time. *As trusted community organizations, while we are not attorneys/legal representatives, it is important that we have consulted with legal agencies to understand which is the best and most up-to-date Family Preparedness plans in case of an immigration emergency. Likewise, it is also important to vet notaries we are recommending out to families/clients. *At Hijas Del Campo we have been working with various attorneys and feel confident in the Immigrant Legal Resource Center's Family Planning Playbook includes all necessary documents that need to be completed and notarized. This comprehensive guide ensures our families have proper protections and steps to follow. Organizations like #ContraCostaFamilyJusticeCenter and Susun Kim are doing the necessary work to protect clients through out #ContraCostaCounty. Thank you to Pilar Ni?o of Telemundo 48 área de la Bahía for helping spread the word in order to protect community from predatory tactics. #ImmigrationRights #FamilyPlanning #KnowYourRights #CommunityResources https://lnkd.in/giUKKgzY

CampesinXs: Essential and yet the most vulnerable in the face of Climate Crisis. Thank you to El Tímpano for capturing the realities of our CampesnX community here in #ContraCostaCounty, but sadly one that is not an isolated issue to us. Climate affects all CampesinXs in our state, and country; and how we work quickly to meet the moments is crucial to protect those who feed us.
What do the Trump administration's cuts to disaster aid have to do with the livelihoods of the country's agricultural workforce? Erica H.'s latest story for El Tímpano breaks it down from the bean, tomato, and corn fields of Brentwood in Contra Costa County. https://lnkd.in/ekkr3S5X
