The Hawai?i Green Growth UN Local2030 Hub is hiring a Network Manager to provide leadership and support to the Hawai‘i Green Growth Network, and advance environmental, social, and economic priorities through the Aloha+ Challenge – Hawai‘i's local framework to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Reporting to HGG’s Chief Executive Officer, you will build, maintain, and oversee our diverse network, relationships and processes, including membership and strategic partnerships; planning and execution of high level events including HGG’s Annual Partnership Event; communications and community engagement; youth engagement in the Aloha+ Challenge; and other strategic initiatives including facilitation of key working groups such as HGG’s Policy & Legislation Working Group and the Sustainability Business Forum. You will work closely with the CEO to engage local, state, and national leaders to catalyze action, including representing HGG at local, national, and international meetings. You should be a self-starter who builds partnerships within and beyond the HGG network to strategically facilitate public-private partnerships on climate and community resilience, corporate sustainability, sustainable tourism, nature-based solutions and payment for ecosystem services. You should work well in fast-paced team environments with a strong foundation in building partnerships and a deeper understanding on topics around interrelated sustainability goals. These last few weeks our team has been busy with many great activities! Swipe through the photos to see what we’ve been up to: ??The Hawai?i Conservation Conference was a great success with over 1,400 participants! We hosted a table in their Exhibitor Hall and connected with numerous partners and organizations doing AMAZING things in the field of conservation, like lab-grown mosquitoes to curb their populations to give endangered birds a fighting chance. We asked attendees, “What do you envision for the future of Hawai?i?”, an important question we should all be thinking about. So tell us, what do YOU envision for Hawai?i’s future? ??Waimea Valley, Hi?ipaka LLC HGG Volunteer Day: we spent the day prepping koa seeds, sorting through good and bad ones, and getting rid of the weevils that chose koa seeds as their snack. Then we got a tour of the garden where we learned about native Hawaiian plants such as ?ilima, koa, naupaka, pōhinahina, ?ōhi?a lehua, and more! ??Our Q3 Policy & Legislation meeting was in person this time! We met at the Hawai?i State Capitol, where we hosted Vice Speaker Greggor Ilagan, Senator Hashimoto, and Governor’s Senior Advisor, Blake Oshiro, who all shared their thoughts on the 2024 Legislative Session. ??Gals with LEI 2024 Global was an event hosted by the East-West Center that celebrated the Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Inspiration of women business and social entrepreneurs in generating jobs and strengthening communities. Hearing these women share their stories was a true inspiration!
