Welcoming Ellen Brennan-Galvin to Our Board of Directors! ??
Ellen Brennan-Galvin, PhD, was a Lecturer and Senior Research Scholar at Yale University’s Graduate School of the Environment from 2003-2011. Before that, she served as Chief of the Population Policy Section at the United Nations Population Division. Her research focused on urban environmental issues in over 20 cities across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. She has written several case studies on mega-cities published by the United Nations and has traveled to over 100 countries.
For many years, she served on a number of committees, panels and working groups of the National Research Council of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. She was a Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C, an International Fellow at Columbia University and a Population Council Fellow at Princeton University.
A Greenwich, CT resident for nearly 40 years, she has been an elected member of the Representative Town Meeting since 2005 and is Vice-Chair of the Land Use Committee. Recently, she has become involved with several arts organizations, serving on multiple boards.
Ellen is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Smith College and holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University. She is also a grateful alumna of High Watch. We’re grateful and honored that Ellen has agreed to serve on our Board of Directors, and we look forward to many successful years working together.
