?? Global Distrust: Shocking Insights from the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer The latest Edelman Trust Barometer uncovers some startling truths about trust worldwide. Here are the top 5 most eye-opening statistics that demand our attention: 1?? 40% of respondents see hostile activism—like spreading disinformation or damaging property—as a viable way to drive change. This highlights the urgency for organizations to foster dialogue and address grievances proactively. 2?? 61% of people globally hold moderate to high levels of grievance, feeling that institutions prioritize the wealthy and powerful over fairness and inclusion. 3?? Distrust is the default in 17 of 28 countries when it comes to government. This growing skepticism creates barriers to collective problem-solving. 4?? Trust inequality between high- and low-income groups reaches double digits in 22 countries. Economic disparity fuels frustration and division worldwide. 5?? Only 36% of respondents believe the next generation will be better off than they are today. A sobering sign of declining optimism in our collective future. Read for yourself here: https://lnkd.in/dBvtUF6n I am forming a discussion group to dig deeper into the report, share resources, and talk about approaches we can take to restore trust in our organizations and communities. In this insightful conversation with sports psychologist Stuart M. Singer, PsyD, M.Ed we explore a powerful truth: teams achieve greatness when individual and collective performance are equally prioritized. For teams to win, every member must strive to be their best, AND the team as a whole must operate at a high level. It’s not about choosing one over the other—both are essential, and together, they drive success. Stu brings lessons from the world of elite sports to show how leaders can foster environments where individuals thrive and teams excel. Whether you're leading in sports, business, or beyond, this perspective can transform how you think about performance and resilience. ?? How do you ensure your team strikes this balance? Let’s discuss below! #Leadership #Teamwork #HighPerformance #Resilience #HighPeaksGroup #SportsPsychology --- At High Peaks Group, we believe resilience is the key to success in today’s fast-changing business environment. I recently had a great conversation with sports psychologist Stuart M. Singer, PsyD, M.Ed where we explored performance through the lens of business and sports. So many parallels. We both have seen so many teams and companies spend too much time fixing what's broken which leaves too much innovation and potential on the table. Optimizing performance without a clear and compelling vision for the future is just rearranging deck chairs. The research confirms our experience: Research by David Cooperrider and others demonstrates that focusing on what works well in an organization helps amplify strengths, leading to more engaged employees and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Kim Cameron and others looked at what makes organizations thrive. They found that organizations fostering positive practices, such as emphasizing strengths and building on success, lead to higher levels of performance and resilience. Gallup’s research shows that strengths-based organizations outperform those that focus on fixing weaknesses in metrics like profit, customer satisfaction, and employee well-being. Carol Dweck's research on growth mindset indicates that fostering an environment where potential and development are prioritized leads to higher performance and innovation. Research by Amy Edmondson on psychological safety also suggests that when organizations adopt a positive framing and encourage employees to focus on opportunities for growth and innovation, teams are more likely to take the risks necessary for improvement and change. This sense of safety and focus on strengths leads to better collaboration, creativity, and resilience. *** ?? High Peaks Group builds resilient organizations for the future.
