Strawberry Kool-Aid Pickles ?? Fried Pickles ?? Mrs. Ina Mae Read’s Sweet Pickles And the fun didn’t stop there! ?? We had a special visitor—Pickle, the Cow Dog! ?? Not only is Pickle the cutest dog in town, but he’s also a registered therapy companion dog, showing off his “sweet” side to everyone who met him. ?? Thank you to everyone who came by to celebrate with us, and a big thanks to Pickle the Cow Dog for making our day even more special! We’re already looking forward to next year’s pickle party! ???? #NationalPickleDay #PickleTheCowDog #HPFun #PickleParty #TherapyDogLove

This Veteran’s Day, a dozen veterans gathered in the dining hall for certificates of appreciation, followed by a rendition of "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and red, white, and blue cake. A painting of Violet and Thomas Blackwell, longtime Longview residents, was displayed on a table. Thomas, a World War II Army Air Forces veteran, was honored by his granddaughter, Tracie Deason, a resident here, who commissioned the painting before his passing. A special thank you to all veterans, including our own residents and staff. Also, thanks to the Anchor Club for the cookies, Hospice of East Texas for supporting the program and certificates, Heart to Heart Hospice for the veteran coin challenge and flag pins, and Hallsville Intermediate School students for the handwritten cards! We thoroughly enjoyed honoring Veterans in our own community. ????
