WOWOWOWOW!!!! This past weekend the team at Highland Park Brewery won 4 GOLD medals en route to winning Brewery of the Year at the Brewers Association Great American Beer Festival. This is akin to winning Best Picture at the Oscars. ITS UNBELIEVABLE. The awards are amazing, but what’s more profound than that is the culture our team has nurtured at HPB. It is the people at HPB striving to set high standards for themselves and those around them. And it’s not just high standards in our quality of work in making beer, but in the quality of humans we strive to be. Caring for people, our community, AND our beer (huzzah!!!!). On the brewery side, Josh Penney (Head Brewer) has truly led the way in all these facets. His leadership has set the tone for a team working together and towards a culture of care and excellence. Thank you Josh!!! And what can we say about our brew team, continually pushing themselves to grow as brewers and people. Y’all are crushing it! Thank you Keenan! Thank you Tyler! Thank you Brian! Thank you Kevin! Thank you Mik! Thank you Clay! Thank you Yvette! And lastly, it’s everyone at HPB that has made this happen. Thank you for contributing to a culture that we can feel incredibly proud of being a part of! Cheers! Bob and Tiff

Bob was recently featured on the Craft Beer & Brewing Podcast talking lager fermentation with members of Fermentis by Lesaffre & The Boston Beer Company. It's a rad episode full of good insight into different lager fermentation approaches. Give it a listen!
Lager yeast is capable of so much more than many brewers give it credit for, and in this industry spotlight panel discussion, Bob Kunz of Highland Park, Urs Wellhoener of Boston Beer, and Grant Lawrence of Fermentis explore ways to heighten expression in cold fermentations. https://lnkd.in/gPzsKpWR

The Downtown LA beer scene is constantly growing, we’re proud to have a home here & love the community we’re apart of. Take a look at Zane Hill's piece for Los Angeles Business Journal about the growing brewery scene in DTLA, how many have adapted to changes thrown their way, & what the future holds.
