Highgate Hawai'i is excited to announce the promotion of Dr. Vivian Viar to Complex Controller for the Park Shore Waikiki Hotel and Kaimana Beach Hotel. Vivian joined our Highgate 'Ohana in summer 2023 and has been an instrumental part of the finance team ever since. With over 20 years of experience in Finance & Hospitality field, Vivian held various account positions in local and international markets. In her leisure time, Vivian enjoys travelling. An interesting fact about her is that she has lived in Iceland, Samoa, Micronesia, Holland, Alaska and many other locations. If given the change in her next life, she aspires to be a Volcanologist and has a keen interest in scuba diving, tropical ornaments, coral reefs and atoll ecosystems. Highgate Hawai'i is delighted to welcome Angela Nolan as Vice President of Operations - Hawai'i Region. Angela started her career in 1995 as an intern at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa and since she has held leadership roles at Kapalua Bay Hotel, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Trump International Hotel? Las Vegas and Planet Hollywood Towers. She later became General Manager of The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas, where she achieved AAA Four Diamond status and led the resort to multiple industry recognitions. Most recently, Angela was the Market General Manager for Marriott Vacations Worldwide in Hawai'i, overseeing resorts at Ko Olina Beach Club, Westin Vacation Club on Maui and Kauai, Marriott's Waikoloa Ocean Club and the newly opened Marriott Vacation Club Waikiki. Angela is an active member of several hospitality organizations, including ARDA, THE HAWAII LODGING & TOURISM ASSOCIATION and Hawai’i Women in Lodging & Tourism. She serves on boards supporting Maui's nonprofits, including the Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Foundation. She holds a BA in International Business Administration from Gettysburg College and has been recognized as a 2014 Women to Watch and a two-time Pineapple Award finalist. Outside of work, Angela enjoys spending time with her family and travelling. Highgate Hawai'i is excited to announce the appointment of Larissa Canida as the Front Office Manager for the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach. Before joining Highgate, Larissa spent seven years at the Coconut Waikiki Hotel, where she began as a Guest Service Agent, later becoming a Guest Service Supervisor and eventually an Executive Housekeeper. In December 2013, she joined Highgate Hawai'i at the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach as a Guest Service Agent and was promoted to Front Office Manager in November 2019. This December marks her 11th anniversary with Highgate! With her extensive experience in hospitality and a proven track record of leadership, Larissa brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her new role at the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach. her journey from Guest Service Agent to Front Office Manager is a testament to her dedication and commitment to excellence in guest service. Known as the "cat lady" at the Courtyard, Larissa has two cats. She enjoys attending concerns, spending time at the beach, exploring the island and catching up with friends. Additionally, she frequently visits Arizona to see her family and loves watching NBA games, especially when it involves the Phoenix Suns!
