Highgate Hawai'i is excited to welcome Madeleine Kaya as the newest member of the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach. With over 8 years of experience in the hospitality across various Marriott brands, Maddy has built a solid foundation in the industry. She began her career as a Front Desk Intern at Marriott Vacations Club Shadow Ridge, where she gained valuable knowledge in hotel operations. Maddy's career continued to grow as she took on roles such as lead guest service agent, supervisor, sales coordinator and sales manager. Most recently, she served as the Meetings and Special Events Manager at the The Ritz-Carlton O?ahu, Turtle Bay. Maddy's career has also included stints at The Westin Pasadena, San Diego Marriott La Jolla and Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Central. Outside of work, Maddy enjoys hiking, spending time with family and friends and going to the beach. Highgate Hawai'i is excited to welcome Olivia Wilson as the Assistant Director of Finance for the 'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach. Olivia joins us from the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, where she most recently served as a Staff Accountant. She brings extensive experience in accounts payable and receivable, payroll management, internal audits and financial reporting. Throughout her career, Olivia has played a key role in streamlining financial operations, optimizing labor costs and identifying revenue opportunities to enhance overall efficiency. Prior to her time in Oahu, she held various finance and operations roles at Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Los Colinas, Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center and Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel gaining a well-rounded understanding of hospitality finance. A few fun facts about Olivia: She is originally from Pennsylvania and grew up riding dirt bikes and ATVs, sparking her adventurous spirit. A passionate traveler, she has explored over 14 countries and is always planning her next destination. When it comes to food, she can't resist a good Thai Red Curry. Thushara is a seasoned finance professional with over 25 years of experience in hospitality finance, having led financial operations across multiple renowned properties. He is deeply committed to driving financial growth, ensuring accurate forecasting and optimizing the financial performance of properties under his leadership. Thushara joins us from Aqua-Aston Hospitality, where he served as Assistant Vice President of Property Accounting, overseeing financial initiatives for 16 properties. He has also held key roles as Chief Financial Officer at The Kahala Hotel & Resort and Director of Finance at the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach, where he played a pivotal role in the hotel's successful opening. Outside of work, Thushara loves golfing, working out, hanging with his kids and their dog Pili Aloha, a 3-year-old golden doodle. He's also a huge Dallas Cowboys fan! Highgate Hawai'i is excited to announce the appointment of Kelsey Vadnais as the Food & Beverage Manager for the Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows. Kelsey was born and raised in Minnesota. She graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and minor in marketing. After graduating she moved to Dallas, Texas and worked in various positions until she moved away in 2019. Most recent to joining the Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows, Kelsey worked at the Montage Kapalua Bay as a pool server from May 2021. She has over 10 years of experience in Food & Beverage and 5 years in the hospitality industry. During her days off, she loves to spend time with her boyfriend and her dog Chester. She also has a hidden talent for painting. Before joining Highgate, Lauren built a solid foundation in the hospitality industry, beginning with her degree in Tourism Industry Management. Her journey started as part of the opening team at the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach, where she began as a Front Desk Agent, from there, she progressed through various roles, moving from Front Desk to Reservations, then to Rooms Operations Manager and finally, Sales. Her dedication and commitment to excellence have been evident in every position she has held. Each role provided her with unique insights and skills that she has seamlessly integrated into her work ethic. Outside of work, she is a dedicated dog mom to her 85-pound canine companion, Hanzo. She has a passion for travelling, especially to places where she can indulge in local cuisine and immerse herself in different cultures.
