Our mission is to create innovative technologies that make renewable energy more sustainable and accessible. Higherwire recovers, refreshes and remanufactures lithium batteries and creates solutions to maximize their useful life and environmental impact. Our proprietary grading process extends the useful life of batteries that would otherwise be destroyed, is more energy efficient than recycling and generates no chemical waste. We also offer a refurbishing program to maximize the life of of our customers' batteries and help them reach their sustainability goals: we reuse cells still fit for high load, repurpose those still useful for stationary systems, and downstream recycle those that have reached end-of-life. We also help them develop and implement EH&S standards to safely and efficiently handle lithium batteries. Higherwire also offers renewable energy system design and installation of our batteries. Our products offer lithium performance at a lead-acid price and outstanding lifecycle costs. When combined with our operations and maintenance program, we can oversee all aspects of the system from cradle to grave. Our customers include municipalities, e-waste processors, solar integrators and mobility companies. R&D is critical to our success, and we have partnered with research institutions and industry experts in both energy storage and power conditioning systems to lead the charge to a sustainable future.

In total, the project avoided 13.5 metric tonnes of CO2e from manufacturing, saved 281 kg of critical minerals, and reduced annual grid emissions by 1.9 tonnes.
