Job Seeker Tips: What NOT to Do! ?? As recruiters, we see a lot of great candidates, but sometimes small mistakes can derail even the strongest of applicants. To help you stand out for the right reasons, here are some common job seeker missteps to avoid: 1?? Don’t Skip the Research Before applying or interviewing, make sure you know the company and the role inside and out. Generic cover letters and resumes are easy to spot and often get overlooked. Show them why YOU are the perfect fit! 2?? Don’t Overemphasize Salary Too Soon While compensation is important, once you’ve shared your expectations, focus on your fit for the role. Repeating it too early can shift the focus away from your value. 3?? Don’t Ignore the Follow-Up After an interview, always follow up with a thank-you note! A brief, thoughtful message shows appreciation and reinforces your interest in the position. Silence can send the wrong message. 4?? Don’t Use a One-Size-Fits-All Resume Tailor your resume to each job application! Employers want to see how your skills match the specific requirements of the role. A generic resume might get passed over in favor of one that stands out. 5?? Don’t Burn Bridges If you're moving on from a role or deciding not to pursue a job offer, always maintain professionalism. A respectful exit keeps your reputation intact and can open doors for future opportunities. 6?? Don’t Ghost Recruiters or Hiring Managers Job searches can be overwhelming, but communication is key. If you decide not to pursue an opportunity, let the recruiter or hiring manager know. It's all about building positive relationships for the future! Your job search is a two-way street. Keep your approach professional, organized, and thoughtful — and watch the opportunities roll in! ?? Need guidance on your job search? We’ve all seen those viral moments like "Glicked" —something that is fun, relatable, and wildly shareable! But can you bring that magic to recruiting for your company? Absolutely... and here’s how: Tell a Story People?Feel??? Recruiting isn't just about job descriptions; it's about?stories. Highlight real employee experiences, showcase your quirky team traditions, or share the “why” behind your culture. People connect with authenticity—bonus points if it’s funny or heartfelt! Use Visuals??? Create something scroll-stopping: - A day-in-the-life TikTok of your office (or remote setup). - A “meme-ified” version of your core values. Think:?low effort, high relatability. Involve Your Team??? Turn your employees into advocates. Let them share why they love working with you. Create a challenge where everyone posts the emojis they think represent your company on LinkedIn that day. Everyone will be asking about all the random dogs, hearts, etc your team is posting about. Make It Niche, Make It Big??? What’s the "Glicked" of your industry? Lean into?inside jokes?only people in your field would get. Maybe it’s a parody about recruiters ghosting candidates (we’ve ALL been there)! Tap into FOMO??? Show your company as the place to be—whether it’s an offbeat team-building day, a virtual happy hour gone hilariously wrong, or an epic onboarding gift. People don’t just want a job; they want to?be part of something cool. Don’t Overthink It??? The best ideas often start with: “This might be ridiculous, but…” Test it out. Post it. See what happens. Virality doesn’t happen in perfection—it happens in fun, raw, and unexpected moments. Here’s your challenge: How can you create a?Glicked?moment in recruiting? Tag your team, brainstorm your ideas, and let’s make recruiting as FUN and MEMORABLE as it deserves to be. #Recruitment #EmployerBranding #ViralMarketing #Glicked #Marketing #Recruiting #Branding

The holidays might feel like a time to pause, but for job seekers, it can actually be an opportunity to get ahead in your job search.??? Here’s how: Use the Holidays to Network:? People are often in a more relaxed, social mood during the holidays. This is the perfect time to think out of the box and attend holiday networking events or casual coffee chats to build relationships. Apply for Open Positions:? Companies are still hiring! While holiday seasons can be slower with moving through interview processes, we are seeing more clients open up roles they'd like to fill before the new year. Reflect & Reassess Your Goals: Take some time to evaluate your job search strategy. What’s working? What isn’t? Are there industries or companies you’ve overlooked? Update your resume and LinkedIn profile, reflect on your strengths, and reassess the kind of role you're aiming for. Stay Engaged:? If you’ve been in touch with recruiters or hiring managers but haven’t heard back, now is a great time to follow up. People tend to have more flexibility during the holidays and may have time to revisit your application or resume. Invest in Skill Development:? The slower pace of the holidays can be the perfect time to enhance your skills. Consider taking an online course or working on certifications that will help you stand out in your field. Keep a Positive Mindset:? The holiday season can bring a mix of emotions, especially if you're job searching. Stay positive, stay motivated, and remember that the right opportunity may be just around the corner. ?? How are you approaching your job search this holiday season? Share your tips or any questions you have — we’d love to hear how you’re planning for the year ahead! #JobSearchTips #JobSeekers #Networking #CareerGrowth #HolidaySeason #Recruiting #TalentAcquisition #CareerAdvice #JobHunt #wisdomwednesday
