"I wish it need not have happened in my time. So do I, and so do all who live to see such times. But all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us" JRR Tolkien. As I look around and listen to many disillusioned and many excited people about the 4 years ahead, I look to my mentors and people I admire as I choose what to do with my time and energies that feels like it can make a difference. When I heard the above quote between Frodo and Gandalf this weekend watching a movie, I couldn't help but think of my mentor and friend Kay Koplovitz. Kay is the very definition of "impactful".
Kay Koplovitz is an amazing entrepreneur who founded the USA Network, she brought sports to cable television and now has dedicated decades furthering other women as founders and investors. She co-founded the 503c Springboard Enterprises, whose portfolio of more than 900 women founders, prove that women founders and co-founders build great companies and women investors get great outcomes. Think how happy the investors are who worked with Melanie Perkins from Canva, Helen Greiner at iRobot, who are both Springboard alumnae. I also speak with personal experience and gratitude, as Kay and her team were instrumental in my growth as a founder and my sale of Enseo.
Kay tells Sarah Kessler from The New York Times "I've always believed that in chaos there are great opportunities." Well we have chaos in our world today and are at a great crossroads of technology. This meets Kay's definition of opportunity as I read it! Please join me in reading Sarah's interview with Kay and consider joining me in adding Springboard to your holiday charitable gifting this year. https://lnkd.in/gxG_89fc
