A little more background as promised on our new Workforce Intelligence Team: Over the summer Ben Thakur tasked me with building out a new product for eTeam. We wanted to lead our clients with a data-first approach that constantly adds value to their business. He knew I'm a data nerd (what marketer isn't?) so it made sense. I started small, testing out data in QBRs. If a client wanted to hire a software developer in one of 4 cities, I'd pull up the salary, experience, gender, ethnicity, and candidate supply data. Then our VPs could accurately advise them on where to expand. Next, I combined that data with our own vast 1st-party data from eTeam and its family of companies. Salary benchmarking is great, but what does it actually cost to employ talent in say, the US vs India? What about India vs nearshore options? This gave a more accurate cost prediction to our clients. Later, the same clients wanted to know about certain skill trends that went along with the data. I combined that 1st and 3rd party data with AI research tools to get a larger picture. But I wasn't done. Ben knew what companies really wanted to know was competitor data. For example, financial companies wanted to know who their competitors were hiring talent from and losing it to. We showed them that data along with the trends in their industries. As you can imagine this was pretty popular. The final step took weeks - combining all that data into one single, unified report. So I started with cyber security. I found the top 20 countries for talent supply. I benchmarked salaries. I calculated the actual cost of paying those salaries. I combined our data with 3rd parties and research tools to get the final result - a global cybersecurity engineering talent report. And with that, we launched the Workforce Intelligence Team (W.I.T). and I couldn't be more proud of the final result.
