Save the date! The 16th Annual California Climate & Energy Forum (CCEC) will be July 9-10 in San Jose. With the theme “Hope in Action: Local Leads the Way,” this year’s forum will highlight the critical role of local leadership in addressing the climate crisis and advancing equity. The two-day event will bring together local and regional governments, state agencies, nonprofits, community-based organizations (CBOs), and private sector leaders to collaborate, share strategies, and inspire action. We're excited to see you there!

If you missed Sammy Roth's Boiling Point newsletter a couple weeks back, it is worth a read! We are hoping the clean energy transition in L.A. is prioritized as the community works towards rebuilding after the devasting fires. "It’s unclear whether Newsom will try to pause existing clean energy codes... Newsom is 'laser-focused on removing unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles so that the communities impacted by the wildfires in the Los Angeles area can rebuild faster, safer, and stronger.' In theory, that makes sense. Everyone wants to make life as easy as possible for wildfire victims. But here’s the reality: Fossil-fueled appliances in homes and businesses spew more than 10% of California’s heat-trapping emissions. If California wants to lead the world on fighting climate change — more important now than ever with President Trump in the White House — state and local leaders need to do more, not less."

If you're looking for a great way to support local initiatives, be sure to check out the Mammoth Chamber's Giving Tuesday blog! We're proud to be a featured nonprofit, as we are fundraising on behalf of Mammoth High School's Construction Management program to help integrate climate-friendly technology into its curriculum. Your dollars will help students both build valuable skills and support the clean energy present + future. Thanks to all those that support local nonprofits!!! ?????? https://lnkd.in/gca5_Vu7

Our team spent a couple of days working with the Town of Mammoth Lakes doing energy-consuming facilities equipment inventories, some even in beautiful locations! If you are a public agency, school or tribe (served by SCE) in Inyo or Mono counties, through our partnership with the Southern California Regional Energy Network, we could help you understand what you have and what may be due for energy efficiency upgrades.
