Receiving the Business High Point - Chamber of Commerce 2025 Woman-Owned Business of the Year award is a privilege, but even more meaningful is the community of strong, talented women we work alongside. Our team is continually inspired by and grateful for Christi Barbour and Christi Spangle, whose ambition, resilience, and support exemplify the power of women in business and whose impact goes beyond design. This recognition from the community is a celebration of the many incredible women shaping our industry and those who have played a role in getting us to where we are today. The award is all the more special as we celebrate 25 years of BSD and Women's History Month. And we are in great company with the Businesswoman of the Year Leah Hazelwood at Go Forth Marketing! Congratulations, Leah! A sincere thank you to those who have been part of our journey and to Business High Point for the honor. Here's to continuing to lift each other up and building a stronger community together!

Serving our community with heart, flexibility, and kindness is the Macedonia Family Resource Center, a place that truly changes with the needs of our community! ?? What began as an educational support hub for children has blossomed into a vibrant community center serving people of all ages - offering everything: after-school tutoring, college tours, chess clubs with law enforcement, financial literacy workshops, a community garden, and more! ?? Behind this incredible community cornerstone is Dell McCormick, whose own journey from High Point's public housing to nonprofit leadership inspires everything the Center does. ?? "The bulk of my life was growing up in public housing, which pretty much got my direction to where I am: not wanting to see people struggle the way I and my family had," Dell shares. His philosophy is beautifully simple: "We're going to treat everybody with dignity here." It's why they never closed during COVID, why police officers are learning chess alongside neighborhood kids, and why people in the community know Macedonia is here for them. ?? Read the full article below to discover more about Dell's remarkable story ?? Discover Dell's new memoir "Escaping the Maze: Sharing the Blueprint." Meet High Point power couple, Mayor Cyril Jefferson and Raven Jefferson! We're celebrating Black History Month ?? and highlighting the ongoing history that is made daily in High Point through strong leaders like the Jeffersons!
