?? Reminder! The Bonsai Courtyard at Hidden Lake Gardens, open from late April to early November, is closing for the season on November 7, 2024. Located just outside the Conservatory, the Courtyard displays a stunning variety of bonsai, including gifts from numerous accomplished bonsai artists. This peaceful spot allows visitors to explore the incredible intersection of nature, art, and science, where the human hand and imagination craft the beauty of these miniature trees. The bonsai collection at Hidden Lake Gardens began in 1968 with the hiring of Jack Wikle. The collection has grown over the years thanks to Jack's personal involvement with the bonsai world and his generous capacity to share his extensive knowledge and enthusiasm with others. The Reach for the Sky Canopy Walk at Hidden Lake Gardens, opened in June 2023, has drawn a surge in visitors and memberships, breathing new life into the 755-acre botanical garden. Spanning 65 feet above the ground, this stunning walkway offers visitors a unique bird’s-eye view of the trees and forest floor.
