We have just surpassed $1,000 in donations! Hickam FCU, along with a cohort of credit unions across Hawai'i, has partnered with the Hawai'i Foodbank to collect donations as a part of this year's "Nourish Our 'Ohana" campaign. We are aiming to raise $3,000 by December 31st. Non-perishable food donations are welcome at any of our Hickam FCU branches, while monetary donations can be made in-branch or online using the link below. Her favorite memory at Hickam FCU was "being able to follow the construction of our new headquarters building from an empty lot full of bushes to a beautiful building and landscape. Congratulations to SJ over at our Hickam Branch. She celebrates a whopping 20 years of service! Here's SJ's favorite memory: "I enjoyed the annual dinner event. Used to be so much fun, I would pay for some of my extended family brothers & sisters who are also members of our credit union. Today, we say aloha to Patrick, who has long served as a manager in our Administration Department. Most members likely don’t know Patrick, as his work often took place behind the scenes. He and his team are tasked with ensuring glamorous tasks, such as distributing our mail, keeping our mechanical systems in working order, and even fixing toilets when they break. It’s a tough and, at times, messy job, but someone has to do it! Known for his stern demeanor, Patrick is a beloved member of our credit union ohana. His steely gaze often made him the source of good-natured jokes and friendly pranks, to which he always responded to in a dry, witty way that only he can. However, underneath it all, Patrick has a big heart and fierce dedication to the credit union. We will miss our daily laughs with Patrick, and will be forever grateful for all he’s done to help carry us to where we are today. Mahalo, Patrick, for the countless ways you’ve touched our lives. We hope you enjoy your well-deserved retirement!

Today, we bid a fond aloha to Marsha, who many of you know as the friendly greeter at our Pearl City Branch. However, Marsha's time with us has been so much more. Since joining the credit union in September 1984, Marsha has served our members in various areas over the years, including roles in our Credit Department, Loan Department, and finally, as our much-loved Pearl City Branch greeter. Throughout her remarkable journey with us, Marsha has made significant contributions in her various roles. Her kindness, professionalism, and unique wit have left an indelible mark on our credit union and the countless members she's served over the years. However, Marsha's impact extends beyond her daily duties; she has forged lasting relationships and created memorable experiences for our members, staff, and volunteers, making our credit union a warm and welcoming place for all. We are profoundly grateful for Marsha's dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence, which have been a guiding light for us all. As Marsha embarks on this new chapter of her life, we wish her all the happiness, relaxation, and fulfillment that retirement can bring. Happy 10 years of service to Carrie! She celebrates a whole decade of fun memories at Hickam FCU ?? Carrie's favorite memory was in 2015 at the 1st?Annual CU Ohana Bowl-O-Rama. "The team I was on won first place! (I’m a horrible bowler so that is amazing for me). Our retired VP of Marketing had to duct tape his bowling shoes and he still won Best Score Overall! Sonia was recently celebrated as our 2023 Employee of the Year, and now she is celebrating 25 years of service with Hickam FCU! ?? Here's what she shared when reflecting on her tenure: "When we were a two-branch credit union (approximately 60 employees then), Hickam branch employees would gather to sing happy birthday to our members that walked into the credit union on their date of birth. Seeing members' eyes light up with appreciation for acknowledging them on their special day was always so heartfelt. We also honored our member who turned 100 with a cake, lei, and news media… Our core values were being practiced even back then. I knew then I was going to be here for the long run. Our Board Members and Senior Management always took into consideration the impact on the employees when discussions and changes were implemented, making Hickam FCU a great place to work."
