?The H2H Network is pleased to welcome its newest member, Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (HHI), as we continue to strengthen evidence-based humanitarian action. ??As a leader in practice-based research and education, HHI ensures that humanitarian aid is grounded in scientific evidence and humanitarian principles. By working with scholars, policymakers, NGOs, and humanitarian actors, HHI helps advance leadership and decision-making in crises and disasters. HHI states: "We joined H2H to engage in collective action to meet growing global humanitarian needs at a time when the international humanitarian system itself is under threat." At a time of increasing complexity in humanitarian crises, collaboration and data-driven solutions are more critical than ever. We look forward to working together to drive collective action and improve humanitarian response through research. ?? Many people in the public health field—including members of the Harvard Chan School community—have been facing waves of uncertainty due to changes in federal policy. Grant reviews have been frozen in many fields. Contracts have been terminated. Data sets have disappeared from websites and, in some cases, have reappeared with warning labels. And the current administration has cut hundreds or thousands of jobs in federal agencies focused on public health. Karestan Koenen, professor of psychiatric epidemiology and an expert in stress and trauma, discusses the impact on public health professionals and offers tips on coping in our latest Q&A: https://bit.ly/3QN98I5
