HGIA is excited to be joining the Climate Future Forum and Hawai?i State Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission (CCMAC) as a booth at the 2024 Climate Future Forum and Youth Climate Summit tomorrow, Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Hawai’i State Capitol from 12 PM - 2:30 PM! The mission of the Climate Future Forum (8:30am-Noon) is to inspire youth to be active and engaged participants in the 2025 legislative session on climate policy and legislation. The event will bring together youth (ages 14-26), educators, policymakers, and supportive organizations to evaluate and discuss climate action priorities and provide tangible steps to empower youth and give them agency in policy. Our hope is for youth to forge relationships with policymakers so that they can continue to work together throughout the 2025 legislative session at the county, state, and national levels. The Youth Climate Summit (open to all ages of youth and their families) is to immediately follow at noon. The mission of the Youth Climate Summit is to connect interested youth of all ages with various organizations who work in the sustainability and/or climate change sectors. The whole family is welcome to participate and learn about how Hawai'i's youth can become leaders in the climate space. There will be interactive booths, prizes, and more! There will also be a Food Drive with Hawaii Food Bank, so please bring items to donate if you can/wish.

The Hawaii Green Energy Market Securitization (GEMS) Program is bringing clean energy technologies to Hawaii ratepayers.
关于我们
Created by the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism and the Hawaii Green Infrastructure Authority, the Hawaii Green Energy Market Securitization (GEMS) Program is bringing clean energy technologies to Hawaii ratepayers, including those who are underserved, by providing innovative financing products that result in electricity bill savings for customers with no money down. The GEMS Program is intended to create a sustainable financing structure through market driven public-private partnerships that will open access to financing for more Hawaii customers and democratize access to clean energy. To address the need for significant investment in clean energy technologies to achieve Hawaii’s clean energy goals, and to identify innovative ways to increase access to clean energy, the Hawaii Green Infrastructure Authority was created by Act 211, Session Laws of Hawaii 2013. The legislation garnered broad support across the community, including from many legislators, other State agencies, clean energy financing advocates, local and national environmental groups, community organizations, energy companies, labor unions, and business organizations

Develop your portfolio of tax credits and cut down retrofitting costs. Find out how much you can save through the #InflationReductionAct at resilientoahu.org/ira. In addition to available federal tax credits, there are also numerous Hawai?i programs that provide financing options for housing, such as Hawaii Green Infrastructure Authority's C-PACER and Solar For All programs and Hawaii State Energy Office's HOMES and HEAR rebate programs.

Mahalo nui to C-PACE Alliance for your pivotal work on these bills! Looking forward to working towards a sustainable, vibrant future for condominium owners, associations, and residents?across Hawai?i!
Congratulations to the State of Hawai?i, the HI Hawaii State Legislature, and Governor Josh Green for passing and signing into law an amended #CPACE #financing enabling legislation! HB 2801 CD 1 was passed successfully by the Hawaii Legislature in early May, and Governor Green officially signed the bill into law yesterday. This law now permits #condominiumassociations to be counted among the state's #commercial #propertyowners to apply for and receive C-PACE financing to help make #sustainable and #resilience #improvements, including #firesuppression systems. In addition, once the law goes into effect on July 1, the program will be active across the entire state all at once, as this law allows the Hawaii Green Infrastructure Authority (HGIA) to manage all administrative aspects of the program. Congratulations again to the people of Hawaii, the Hawaii Legislature, and Governor Green for bringing more power and possibilities of C-PACE financing to the state of Hawaii! An additional congratulations and thanks goes to Gwen Yamamoto Lau at HGIA for her hard work and tireless efforts in getting this legislation passed. It was a pleasure working with Gwen on this effort!

The Hawai‘i Green Infrastructure Authority (HGIA) is proud to announce that it is one of six green banks across the United States selected to join the Equitable Clean Water Infrastructure program, which provides technical assistance to build a pipeline of clean water infrastructure projects to directly and equitably benefit disadvantaged communities. This program is made possible through a joint collaboration between the Coalition for Green Capital, PRE Collective, and Quantified Ventures, with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. HGIA will collaborate with communities, non-profits, financial institutions, and other partners to design programs to address some of our state’s most pressing water quality issues. These include cesspool conversions, to further our state’s goal of total cesspool conversion by 2050, energy-neutral on-site water reuse facilities, on-farm water efficiency measures, and water conservation measures that reduce residents’ energy burden. Hawai’i faces unique challenges in constructing water infrastructure given its remote location, geography, and prevalence of tourism. HGIA is excited to continue co-designing innovative financial programs that are sustainable, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, cut down on pollutants, and embody the philosophy of “ola i ka wai”—water is life.
