Dear Member Owners, As we reflect on the past year, I am filled with gratitude for the trust and support you have shown Holy Family Memorial Credit Union throughout 2024. This year has been one of growth, resilience, and community spirit. 2024 Highlights: Financial Strength: In 2024, HFMCU increased our income and expenses. We offered lending with flexible terms and the best rates, even in a challenging rate market. Member savings increased, and we helped make those dollars go farther by paying a better return. Importantly, our overall increased income was achieved with a flat performance in fees to our members, continuing our commitment to putting people before profit. Member Services: Most significantly, 2024 saw an increase in dividends paid to our members, over three times what we paid in 2023. Updated payment systems and refreshed digital services were significant enhancements, providing up-to-date tools to assist in managing your money more easily. HFMCU continues to focus on developing secure, reliable solutions that our members have come to expect. Looking Ahead to 2025: Member Experience: We will continue to value your feedback and listen to your needs, ensuring a personalized and exceptional financial experience. Our member-first culture prioritizes people over profit. Mission-Driven Purpose: We are dedicated to advancing the financial health and quality of life for our members through personalized guidance and value-driven service. Product Innovation and Technology: Our mobile app will be introduced in January 2025 – find it in the app stores! We will also continue to offer new lending expertise with flexible terms and the best rates to meet more needs of our members, including student loans and healthcare professional development. Developing Partnerships: Our commitment to serving the healthcare and faith communities of our members has never wavered. At the end of this year, HFMCU completed work to clarify our mission, core values, and our identity. Knowing who we are helps us to better serve our members with compassion and financial expertise. HFMCU is on a mission to help our members who may be struggling financially because of a cancer diagnosis. Our employees are called Cancer Care Agents. This team will be focused on meeting the unique financial needs of members with cancer.? For this Cancer Care Agent program to work, though, we need your help.?? You'd never know it listening to the politicians in DC, but there are amazing people doing amazing things in the banking industry. I want to call your attention to one of them and the work he's doing to improve people's lives (not just their financial lives). I met Andy Janning back in Oct 2007 when Matt Dean and Trabian organized a conference at FORUM Credit Union and Andy was working there. Andy now spearheads a number of initiatives that a lot more financial institutions need to know about and get involved with. A lot of FIs are genuinely concerned with improving their customers/members' financial health and financial lives. However (and I say this in almost every presentation I give): ???? ?????? ???????? ???? ?????????????? ??????????????' ?????????????????? ???????????? ?????? ???????? ???? ???????? ???????? ???????? ?????????? ???????????????? ?????? ???????????? ????????????. Andy is doing that with initiatives that bring meaningful consumer debt relief to people with cancer including: ?? ???????????????? ????????????????????. Created by St. Cloud Financial Credit Union, this is a new national foundation that provides grants of to patients across the country with cancer and other terminal illnesses, and is supported by Mazuma Credit Union, Altra Federal Credit Union, and SharePoint Credit Union. Their generosity provided $50,000 in grants to 11 patients recently. ?? ???????? ???????? ????????.?Andy is forming a national alliance of credit unions committed to offering debt relief, financial counseling, and economic assistance to improve the financial, physical, and emotional wellbeing of members and families in cancer-related financial distress. Four credit unions have joined already, led by New Orleans Firemen's Federal Credit Union.?Researchers are working to secure grant funding to study the effect of the Life Over Debt programs on recipient financial, physical, and emotional wellbeing. If your organization is truly committed to improving the financial health of your customers/members, then you have to do (a lot) more than just provide financial education.
