Dear ACTG Members: The deadline to submit for the 2025 Annual Conference is on Thursday, February 13, 2025. We are looking for any of the 8 types of submissions for presentations at the conference: Lecture, Poster, Panel, Case Study, Invited Symposium, Demonstration, Workshop, and Alternative Format related to augmented cognition. The Augmented Cognition Technical Group (ACTG) is focused on pioneering research in enhancing human abilities through computational technologies, addressing cognitive bottlenecks and biases via real-time cognitive sensing, data integration, and adaptive training across various closed-loop system applications. Specific areas of interest include: ?Real-time physiological and neurophysiological sensing ?Data classification and integration architectures ?Adaptive strategies for system adaptation ?Individually tailored training systems Keywords for submissions can include: Cognition; Physiological sensing; Learning, Training and Education; and AI and Machine Learning. Introducing the 2025 ACTG Officers! We’re excited to announce the new leadership team for the Augmented Cognition Technical Group (ACTG) @ HFES, HFES - Human Factors and Ergonomics Society in 2025. This dedicated team will continue driving innovation and fostering collaboration within our community. ?? Heejin Jeong (Chair) oversees the success of ACTG. He is an Assistant Professor at The Polytechnic School, Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. ?? Michael Hildebrandt (Vice-Chair) supports the Chair and prepares for the 2026 term. He is a Senior Human Factors Scientist at the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) in Halden, Norway. ?? Jackie Cha (Program Chair) leads the organization of ASPIRE 2025, managing the peer review process and program schedule. She is an Assistant Professor at Clemson University College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. ?? Shuchisnigdha Deb (Program Vice-Chair) assists the Program Chair in organizing ASPIRE 2025. She is an Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Arlington. ?? Ryan Wohleber (Newsletter Editor), a former ACTG Chair and Research Psychologist at the Air Force Research Lab, curates ACTG’s newsletter with the support of Jason Sanders (Vice Newsletter Editor), a Human Factors and Ergonomics Master’s student at San José State University. ?? Shyam G. (Webmaster) maintains and updates the ACTG website (https://lnkd.in/g4iU9Upn). He is currently a Master’s student in Robotics at the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks at Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. ?? Xiaoyun Yin (Student Outreach Officer) oversees student engagement, including the ACTG Student Research Grant Award process. She is a Ph.D. student in Human Systems Engineering at Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University.
